I’m Mike Xirouchakis, a creative director, animator and illustrator based in Athens. My work spans advertising, education, museum experiences and animated storytelling, combining a background in drawing with over a decade of production experience.

For six years, I served as Production and Creative Director at The Armchair Historian LLC, guiding storyboard artists and animators from early concepts to final edit. My role brought together visual direction, team mentoring and production planning, helping people develop their craft while keeping a shared creative vision.

Alongside my leadership experience, I remain a hands-on artist. I develop storyboards, create illustrations and animate in 2D. My previous projects include animated content for Plato’s Academy Museum, in collaboration with the Foundation of the Hellenic World, and work with production companies across advertising and broadcast.

I studied Cultural Technology and Communication at the University of the Aegean and earned an MA in Digital Film and Animation with merit from London Metropolitan University. I later received a scholarship to the Ornerakis School of Applied Arts through its storyboard competition, graduating in 2014.

Today, I work freelance alongside developing Myths from the Abyss, my own animated series.
